When I was younger, one of my favorite shows was ‘The Look for Less.’ My mom and I absolutely loved watching the people on this show find budget-friendly versions of clothing and accessories that (for the most part) were waaay out of most people’s price range.
I love the idea of this show because we now live in a world where we’re constantly seeing amazing designer fashion on social media, but we can’t necessarily afford it. The good news is however that so many mainstream brands are also being inspired by luxury designers and social media and are making similar designs readily available for all of us.
It’s now easier than ever to dress like your favorite celebrities and influencers without having to wear horrible knock-offs and replicas.
So I’m creating my own Look for Less, designer handbag style!
Here’s 5 of the most popular handbags right now and their more affordable counterparts.

You won’t find any labels or initials on Bottega Veneta bags, but the signature woven leather fabrication tells you exactly what label these bags are at first sight. You can find this woven leather on the tiniest of card cases to the largest of hobo bags and everything in between.
There are so many affordable look-alikes available today and many of them aren’t even exact dupes of the original designer. A ton of brands are simply being inspired by Bottega Veneta and adapting the woven leather look onto bags of their own. I actually have two bags with this design and I wear them all the time!

The signature curved shape of the new Balenciaga ‘Hourglass’ bag is so fun and unique. So many celebrities have been rocking this bag lately, from Hailey Bieber to Tracee Ellis Ross, and I love how they are styling it!
There are a ton of affordable options out there from easily accessible brands, such as Zara and Primark. I love that almost all these bags are not exact dupes of the original Hourglass bag, but have simply incorporated the shape into their own design.

An extreme angular shape and dramatic top handle screams one brand only, Jacquemus. This brand seemed to become popular overnight with the signature mini bag ‘Le Chiquito’ and now it can be seen all over social media. It is the perfect accompaniment to a glam night out look or a casual hoodie and joggers set and everything in between – so versatile!
You can find Jacquemus look-alike bags literally everywhere now, but here are a few of my favorites:

It’s easy to spot the Book Tote by Christian Dior from a mile away; the embroidered canvas material and square shape are classic indicators. But now, that signature embroidery can be seen on several different bag styles, and they’re even coming out with a bunch of different patterns of embroidery in addition to the traditional Dior logo.
You can find this embroidered look on more affordable bags at your local stores now and I am loving this look for fall! Although some bags don’t have actual embroidery on them (as this can be quite pricey to manufacture), there are some really great prints that look like embroidery from a distance so you can still get the effect.

90’s revival is the trend of the season and the Prada nylon collection fits right in. The brand has been launching their re-edition collection, where they bring back bags from the 90’s and early 00’s and make them available again.
No one does the nylon trend better than Prada, but you can find some pretty similar shapes and styles for a waaay better price. A bunch of these bags have detachable nylon accessories that come with the bag as well, like coin purses and card holders so you get more bang for your buck!
